In me

Lame

Having a navigation system installed in my car somehow adds $80 a year to my insurance, and even combined with my home owner’s policy I’m still tapping out at $1840 a year for a 4 year old car which is paid for. And it’s garaged. And has an alarm. And I only drive it for “pleasure.” (No work or school driving, 7500 or less miles/yr.) And it has GPS tracking, were it stolen.
Such a fucking scam.

Jesus! Two thousand a year. You must get an awful lot of pleasure out of it to keep shelling out that much. Is gas included? Because I hear that sometimes isn’t cheap.

Hmmm, I pay less than that for two cars (98 Trooper, 2003 Mini), plus renter’s insurance. It’s all about the zip code.
The good news is, because of a new California law, zip codes must be given less weight starting next month and, depending on your carrier, continuing over the next two years. Thank you Commissioner Garamendi!

I’d be interested to know how this affects your rates.
