I think Arnold’s chances are 7 of 10. He’s got the name recognition, but has two hurdles. First, he’s got to get his political credentials out there- especially his work on Proposition 49. Second, he has to push the other 2 GOP candidates out of the race. Then, he has a great shot at being the next California Governor.
Well, Simon is gone, although he never had a chance in the first place. That leaves Ueberroth and McClintock, which will barely register on anyone’s radar.
However, that doesn’t negate that we live in a liberal country (combine Gore votes and Nadar votes from last election, much more than 50%), not to mention an extremely liberal state. I don’t think it’ll be possible for Arnold to stem that tide, despite his celebrity status.
He also is also likely polarizing the female vote, as his “staff” is turning into a good ol’ boys club. Not to mention stupidity such as Rob Lowe. (One actor who played a politician advising another actor trying to be a real politician. Comedy!) Then there’s the Wiesenthal “investigation” into his father.
It appears to be turning into an uphill battle.
On this website , you can click on phrases to activate Governor Schwarzenegger’s voice saying things like, “Who is your daddy?” .. “If I’m not me, then who da hell am I?” …
Make a speech out of this and have fun.
